The wait is over, Gearheads. The highly anticipated remaster, Gears of War: Reloaded, is giving players their first taste of its revamped multiplayer action, and the first of two beta weekends starts today! Whether you're a seasoned vet or a newcomer ready to experience the classic cover-based shooter, here's everything you need to know to jump in.

When Does the Beta Start?

The first multiplayer beta weekend is live now and runs from Friday, June 13 at 9:00 PM CEST until Sunday, June 15 at 9:00 PM CEST.

If you miss out this time, a second beta weekend with even more content will take place from June 20 to June 22.

How to Get Beta Access

The Coalition and Microsoft have provided three main ways to secure your spot on the battlefield:

Pre-order the Game: Anyone who pre-orders a digital copy of Gears of War: Reloaded on Xbox Series X|S, PC, Steam, or PlayStation 5 will get automatic access.

Be a Game Pass Subscriber: All active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can download and play the beta right now.

Be a Longtime Fan: If you purchased a digital copy of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before May 5, 2025, you are eligible for a free upgrade to Reloaded and should have received a code in your Xbox messages granting access.

This first weekend focuses on the essentials. Players can dive into the classic Team Deathmatch mode across three iconic, fully remastered maps:
