The Animatronic Has Been Unleashed: Dead by Daylight Finally Gets Its Five Nights at Freddy's Crossover
The day has finally come. After years of fan theories, fervent requests, and countless rumors, Behaviour Interactive has officially pulled back the curtain on one of gaming's most anticipated horror crossovers: Five Nights at Freddy's is coming to Dead by Daylight.
The new chapter, set to launch on July 15, 2025, will introduce a new Killer to the fog: The Animatronic. As everyone hoped, the default cosmetic for this new menace is the terrifying and iconic Springtrap.
Springtrap's power, "Hide and Seek," allows him to enter a stealth mode with no terror radius, perfectly capturing the feel of the FNAF games. While hidden, he can create "decoys" in lockers that trigger sound notifications when a Survivor gets too close, and he can unleash a devastating "Jumpscare" lunge attack. For fans of the lore, a "William Afton" cosmetic will also be available, allowing you to play as the man behind the machine.
In a slight departure from some previous chapters, this release will not include a new Survivor or a new map. The focus is entirely on bringing the terrifying presence of Springtrap into the game.
However, the collaboration extends beyond the new Killer. The in-game store will also feature new cosmetic collections, including a "Freddy Fazbear" skin for The Trapper, a "Foxy" outfit for The Huntress, and a "Tattered Pizza Boy" look for Dwight Fairfield.
For those who can't wait to be hunted, the Five Nights at Freddy's chapter is available to play right now on the Public Test Build (PTB) on Steam.
